ASCii or Binary problem? Error 500
« on: July 26, 2007, 03:40:39 AM »
Hi

I'm testing the very basic version of the script at the moment (no changes made other than urls etc..), so I haven't altered your code.

I get an error 500 and have tried everything to solve the issue.  Path to Perl and Sendmail are fine, permissions are fine.  use CGI::Carp qw(fatalsToBrowser); doesn't tell me anything.

I have the formMail script and works fine on the server so yours should too...

One thing I've noticed is that when I unzip and open your file in Notepad it's perfectly readable and neatly laid out.  When I open formMail the characters are all over the place and it's trickier to read (if I open it in another program like WordPad it's easily readable and is laid out like your form2email script is in Notepad).

Therefore - is my computer somehow converting the perl file to binary when I open it in Notepad do you think?  Any other ideas - I've spent 2 days trying to get this to work because it looks like a fantastic script!!!
